Algeria participates in the ninth edition of the ITB China International Tourism Fair 2026 in the city of Shanghai
The first day of the participation of the tourism and traditional handicrafts sector, represented by the National Tourism Office (ONT), together with 14 national tourism partners, at the ITB China 2026 International Tourism Fair, organized from May 26 to 28, 2026, witnessed significant attendance from tourism professionals and industry stakeholders, who expressed strong interest in including Algeria in their upcoming tourism programs.
The participation was marked by the organization of a series of professional meetings and bilateral working sessions with international stakeholders and experts in tourism, travel, and marketing, particularly through pre-booked appointments via the ITB Navigator – Meeting platform, which helped establish an effective agenda to strengthen cooperation and partnerships with a number of travel agencies and tour operators, both from China and from various countries around the world.
I also featured a craftsman specializing in pottery, adding a distinctive artistic dimension to the Pavilion, where his works received praise from visitors. The Pavilion also hosted several travel marketing agencies that affirmed that Algeria boasts unique and diverse tourism potentials, emphasizing the importance of highlighting them through international promotional campaigns.
The Office received several proposals for participation in international demonstrations and exhibitions, as well as suggestions regarding smart application tools for promoting tourism. The Pavilion was visited by the Consul General of Uruguay, as well as a number of influencers and bloggers interested in the tourism sector.
This participation underscores Algeria's commitment to enhancing its positioning within the global tourism map and reinforcing its image as a comprehensive and safe tourist destination.
