We commend together that Algeria-Serbian relations are historical, based on the principles of trust and strong friendship, and trace their roots to the support given by the former Yugoslavia to the noble liberation revolution.
On this occasion, the outcome of the bilateral cooperation between the two countries in the tourism sector, primarily based on promotional aspects, through joint participation in events and major tourism events hosted in Algeria and Serbia, which had a positive impact on the image of Algerian tourism, was reported by Serbian media.
On the other hand, the Serbian Minister of Tourism and Youth praised the promotional efforts undertaken to promote Algeria's #Tourism image, carried out in coordination with the Algerian diplomatic mission in Belgrade, and also welcomed the official confirmation of Algeria's participation in "Expo Belgrade" scheduled for 2027, which, in her view, represents a valuable opportunity to promote Algeria's authentic and unique tourist destinations, as well as the country's rich and diverse cultural heritage, before international visitors, especially the Serbian audience.
This, and during the official interview, other future cooperation topics were also discussed, including the exchange of expertise in the fields of #TourismTraining and hospitality, digitalization of services and tourism offerings, as well as the development of sustainable tourism models, such as green tourism, rural tourism, cultural tourism, and authentic tourism, particularly in alignment between the two countries in a shared context aimed at preserving the authenticity of Algerian and Serbian tourist destinations.
In addition to the ministers' discussion on the importance of giving new impetus to bilateral relations by activating cooperation mechanisms and enhancing air connectivity between Algeria and Belgrade through the establishment of direct flight routes, which will increase tourist inflows between the two countries.
In the end, Ms. Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, Soya, welcomed the signing of the "Protocol on Tourism Cooperation," whose ceremony took place at the Government Palace, under the supervision of the Prime Minister and his Serbian counterpart, and both agreed to align with the overarching vision aimed at strengthening profitable economic partnerships and expanding investment sectors, particularly in tourism.
