This meeting falls within the preparations for Algeria's participation in this global event, which will feature over 160 countries from around the world. The event will be held under the theme "Innovating the Future for Community Well-being," aligning with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals and focusing on themes of life sustainability, life improvement, and life enhancement through communication. During this meeting, the necessary arrangements were discussed to ensure optimal conditions and professional preparations for the tourism and handicrafts sectors to guarantee a strong and effective representation of Algeria and promote its diverse tourism offerings.
As Madam Minister presided over this matter, a preparatory meeting was held bringing together the central authorities of the Ministry, as well as various stakeholders in the tourism sector, including institutions responsible for promotional activities, handicrafts, hospitality and spa tourism institutions, professional associations of tourism and travel agencies. This was aimed at unifying efforts, fostering collaboration, and working as a cohesive team to present the best possible image of Algeria and promote it in the Japanese tourism market, as well as in the markets of the countries participating in this unique global event.
The tourism and handicrafts sector will participate alongside other sectors in Algeria's designated pavilion at the World Expo hosted by the artificial island "Dōshima" located on the coastal shore of Osaka, Japan, under the supervision of the Algerian governorate responsible for organizing our country's participation in international exhibitions.
Madam Minister thanked all the participants present at the meeting for responding to the invitation and for their role in enhancing Algeria's image and promoting our tourism products and traditional crafts, and highlighted the importance of participation in this global event.
In the same context, she emphasized the need to highlight Algeria's progress and the authenticity of its tourist destinations, thanks to their diversity and richness, as well as traditional handicrafts, particularly through the traditional attire that distinguishes Algerian men and women. She also highlighted the importance of linking authenticity with modernization by using films and modern communication tools to promote and market the content presented by professionals and artisans.
The meeting also discussed a program for the participation of the tourism and handicrafts sector, along with the contributions of various stakeholders in their respective fields within this program, through the production of high-quality products to enhance Algeria's tourism appeal and attract Japanese and Asian tourists, as well as visitors from other participating countries.
In conclusion, Madam Minister issued instructions focusing on the necessity of coordination and joint efforts, working as a unified team to represent Algerian tourism more effectively, yielding fruitful results and enhancing our global image.
