Promoting Algeria as a tourism destination during the Arab Military Boxing Championship

May God bless you...

Within the framework of the Third Arab Military Championship in Boxing, organized by the Arab Military Sports Federation and taking place in Algeria from December 23 to 26, 2024, at the Military Sports Teams Gathering and Training Center in Ben Akkoun, First Military Region, upon request from the organizing committee, the National Tourism Office (ONT) participated in this event by organizing a dedicated exhibition for tourism and handicrafts, with the aim of promoting Algeria as a destination to participating countries and guests, as well as introducing and marketing traditional products such as the traditional artistic copper and brassware and the Zarrabi handicrafts.

The ceremony marking the opening of the event was presided over by Colonel Mohammed Al-Salah, Deputy Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense, on Monday, December 23, 2024, in the presence of Ms. Houria Meddahi, Minister of Tourism and Traditional Crafts, government officials, and senior officers from the Ministry of National Defense and the People’s National Army, along with diplomatic representatives from the participating countries and the President of the Arab Union of Military Sports at the Arab League University, together with members and delegates from the Union's committees, who participated alongside the National Military Combat Team, as well as the combat teams from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Palestine, Libya, and Tunisia, totaling (35) combatants.

This tournament, which will extend until December 26, 2024, aims to promote a top-tier Arab athletic community in boxing, strengthen bonds of brotherhood and friendship among military athletes from Arab armed forces, and provide an opportunity for participating delegations—including senior officials, athletes, and coaches—to discover the cultural and tourist diversity of Algeria.
