Cultural discovery trip to Médéa for Yennayer 2976

In the framework of celebrating the Amazigh New Year, January 2976, the National Tourism Office organized a cultural exploration trip for the national press to the Medea region, in coordination with the Medea Tourism and Handicrafts Directorate.

This trip falls within the efforts of the Office to promote the national tourism destination, highlight both tangible and intangible cultural heritage, and introduce the tourism potential of Medea Province.

The Office, through the program planned for the first day, highlighted the diversity of local tourism products, via visits to a number of tourist and historical sites, as well as introducing the customs and traditions associated with the celebration of the Amazigh New Year, considered a cultural heritage reflecting the depth of national identity.

The first stop was a visit to the Museum of Arts and Popular Cultures "Dar el Emir Abdelkader," a significant historical landmark, where a competition for the best traditional dish was organized, showcasing the most prominent traditional dishes during this occasion.

Then, the delegation was transported to Tabetla, accompanied by the tourism and handicrafts directorate deputy, as well as representatives from the National Tourism Office and the press present to cover the events, including a visit to the handicrafts exhibition. The delegation was received by the mayor of Tabetla, accompanied by the provincial council member, alongside local authorities and security forces, with participation from the handicrafts and trade chamber director and president for the Medea province, and the provincial agency director for small and medium enterprise support and development, along with several other personalities.

The fair featured a diverse showcase including crafts and traditional industries, traditional sweets, popular local dishes, traditional clothing, and olive oil. A special drawing workshop was also dedicated for children, in a festive atmosphere that highlighted the richness of the cultural heritage and the authenticity of local traditions.

At the end of the first day, the opportunity was provided to celebrate the January festivities at the level of the Tourism and Handicrafts Directorate, through organizing a traditional seating event aimed at highlighting the region's customs and traditions, as well as the role of traditional handicrafts, in coordination with the Daliya Association.
