Today, Wednesday, August 06, 2025, Minister of Tourism and Handicrafts, #MsHouriaMeddahi, presided over the ceremony of appointment of Mr. Abdelhamid Ouari as the new General Director of the National Tourism Office (ONT), succeeding Mrs. Salima Nacer Baidi, who has been placed on retirement.
The ceremonies took place at the headquarters of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, in the presence of Dr. Hocine, President and General Director of the Hotel, Tourism, and Metal Bath Complex, the Director General of Tourism, and a number of Central Directors and officials under the supervision.
At the speech delivered on the occasion, Madam Minister praised the new Director General's competence and highlighted his professional track record, during which he held several high-level positions, his most recent being at a prestigious state-level body. She emphasized the Office's continued commitment, like the rest of the institutions and departments of the Ministry of Tourism and Handicrafts, to adopting the country's top-level policies, particularly in the areas of digital transformation, service quality improvement, and effective promotion of Algerian tourist destinations.
In this regard, Madam Minister expressed her gratitude to Ms. Salima Nacer Béï to all the efforts she has made throughout her professional career, wishing her, in her name and on behalf of all sector employees and staff, continued health, well-being, and happiness during her retirement phase.
Madam Minister also presided over the ceremonial appointments of six (6) additional central-level frameworks, four (4) of whom were appointed through #InternalPromotion.
