Press statement

In continuation of implementing the tourism and traditional handicrafts sector strategy, particularly its international enhancement component, and in the framework of strengthening Algeria's presence as a distinctive tourist destination in promising markets, Algeria, through the National Tourism Office, will participate alongside a delegation of tourism operators at the 12th edition of the International Tourism Fair PLACE 2 GO, held in Zagreb, Croatia, from 28 to 30 March 2025, in coordination and cooperation with our diplomatic mission in Zagreb.

Note: This is the second participation in the Croatian market, following Algeria's role as guest of honor in 2023, when the Algeria as a tourism destination attracted visitor interest and provided travel and tour agencies with an opportunity to establish business relationships with their foreign counterparts for organizing discovery trips to Algeria. Croatian media outlets also played a role in covering the event and promoting the Algerian tourism destination through articles and feature reports.

It is the trade fair "PLACE 2 G0"

The leading global player in travel and tourism, and a lover of travel in Croatia.

The 12th edition will gather numerous tourism professionals who provide services, while also attracting tourists interested in tourism.

This economic event in the Eastern and Southeastern and Central Europe region is primarily targeted at professionals in the sector, featuring a gathering of approximately 800 exhibitors representing 40 countries, and is open to visitors, with attendance expected to reach up to 15,000.

To ensure quality participation, a display area has been reserved and decorated with posters and banners highlighting Algeria's tourist diversity, as well as screens for showcasing promotional films about Algeria's tourism and traditional handicrafts.

Three-dimensional 3D tourism films will also be shown for some tourist areas.

A traditional tent will also be set up showcasing the customs and traditions of southern Algeria.
