Algeria participates in the 32nd Edition of the International Tourism and Travel Fair MITT Moscow
As part of the implementation of the National Tourism Office's international work plan and to enhance Algeria's tourism destination presence in foreign markets, the tourism and traditional handicrafts sector will participate in the activities of the 32nd edition of the International Tourism and Travel Fair (MITT) Moscow, which will take place in Moscow, Russia, from March 11 to 13, 2026.
This international event is one of the most prominent tourism events specializing on the global stage, serving as a key platform for promoting tourist destinations and fostering partnership and cooperation opportunities among sector stakeholders, as well as a professional space for sharing experiences and exploring investment opportunities.
This participation also represents a strategic opportunity to promote Algeria's tourism and cultural assets, especially given the distinguished bilateral relations with Russia and the promising prospects it offers for developing tourism cooperation.
By way of reference, the previous edition of this fair featured more than 1,008 exhibitors representing over 72 countries, in addition to welcoming over 16,427 tourism professionals and enthusiasts, underscoring the international prestige of this event.
Algeria will be represented through a pavilion featuring a range of national tourism operators, which has been equipped with all necessary tools to ensure effective promotion and presentation of Algeria's tourist products and destinations under optimal conditions. Additionally, a portion of Algeria's national cultural heritage related to traditional handicrafts will be highlighted, through the display of examples of artistic pottery pieces, giving visitors the opportunity to closely observe and appreciate the various stages involved in producing this Algerian artistic product.
This participation holds particular significance given the status of the Russian market, considering it as one of the largest global export markets for tourists with high spending power, as well as the growing interest among Russian travelers in authentic, off-the-beaten-path destinations outside traditional tourist routes, offering Algeria a genuine opportunity to establish itself as a distinctive tourism destination.
Algeria boasts diverse tourism features combining natural, cultural, and historical assets, featuring beautiful landscapes, ancient historical sites, and a rich cultural heritage—especially in the southern regions of Algeria, known for their unique desert character and authentic tourism offerings capable of attracting Russian tourists.
This participation falls within efforts to enhance Algeria's positioning in the international market, to intensify initiatives aimed at attracting more tourists, and to support the dynamics of partnerships and investment in the tourism sector.
